What Do You Think of Pantone’s Color Of The Year 2019?

For the 20th anniversary of its annual Color of the Year announcement, Pantone went with a daring selection.

The colour authority selected 16-1546 Living Coral, a shiny orange-y colour that mimics nautical coral itself, as its Color of The Year 2019.

Pantone, which describes the hue as “sociable” within the announcement, says Living Coral is a “reaction to the onslaught of digital technology and social media increasingly embedding into daily life, we are seeking authentic and immersive experiences that enable connection and intimacy.”

For inside design, Pantone says that “When used as a bold statement in settings and décor, Living Coral fosters immersive experiences such as pop-up installations and interactive spaces, tied to a playful spirit.”
