Trump appoints Darrell Issa as director of Trade and Development Agency


WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump will identify retiring congressman Darrell Issa of California to be the director of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency.

The White House confirmed Wednesday that Issa, a Republican from Southern California, will likely be named to the place, which is at the moment vacant.

The unbiased company helps companies create jobs domestically by way of the export of U.S. items and companies for improvement initiatives in rising economies. Issa’s appointment comes amid a push by Trump to renegotiate harder commerce offers with a few of America’s largest commerce companions.

Issa has been an outspoken advocate for Trump’s hard-line commerce insurance policies — particularly, his current crackdown on China, saying that China doesn’t shield overseas companies’ commerce secrets and techniques.
