Hours after he was suspended by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the deputy nationwide chairman (north) of the opposition organisation, Babayo Gamawa, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and visited President Muhammadu Buhari.

Femi Adesina, the spokesperson of the president, confirmed this in captions accompanied displayed pictures of Babayo with Buhari within the night of Tuesday, January 8.

The report mentioned Babayo was suspended over alleged involvement in anti-party actions, in line with the PDP.

His suspension was confirmed by the PDP nationwide publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, in a press release that the choice was reached on the get together’s National Working Committee (NWC) extra-ordinary assembly held on the fifth of January, 2019.
