Pence presses Merkel over Nordstream, Iran deal

MUNICH (Reuters) – U.S. Vice President Mike Pence mentioned on Saturday he informed German Chancellor Angela Merkel that Europe and the USA want to face collectively in opposition to Iran and he reiterated Washington’s opposition to the Nordstream 2 fuel pipeline.

Pence informed reporters he “talked about the entire points” together with the pipeline underneath building between Russia and Germany underneath the Baltic Sea, a challenge Washington has urged Berlin to desert.

“We can’t strengthen the West by changing into depending on the East,” Pence mentioned.
