An upstate New York man has been sentenced to a few years in jail and ordered to pay again greater than $100,000 he bilked out of other folks in a holiday home apartment rip-off.
Federal prosecutors say 58-year-old Henry Dean III, of Beaver Dams in Schuyler County, was once sentenced for his conviction on twine fraud fees.
Prosecutors say Dean defrauded about 20 other folks out of just about $140,000 between 2014 and 2016 via providing holiday homes within the Finger Lakes area for hire.
Authorities say he advertised the homes on web apartment internet sites. One of the leases he presented was once present process significant building, whilst any other was once owned via an individual who wasn’t providing it for hire.
After receiving deposits from shoppers, Dean would cancel the reservations and refuse to refund the bills.
