Nigeria’s former finance minister, Kemi Adeosun, has left the nation, a day after her resignation, sources near her instructed PREMIUM TIMES on Saturday.
Mrs Adeosun, finance minister since November 2015, stepped down from workplace on Friday after proudly owning as much as parading a cast youth service scheme certificates.
President Muhammadu Buhari accepted her resignation on Friday night time, 69 days after PREMIUM TIMES first revealed an in depth investigation of how she obtained the faux doc and went on to safe plush employments with it, including as head of Nigeria’s finance ministry.
Mrs Adeosun defined in her resignation letter that the PREMIUM TIMES investigation was true, however stated she didn't know the certificates was cast as she relied on associates who helped receive it after she returned from the UK.
The former minister expressed her gratitude for the honour to serve her nation.
Although Nigerians welcomed her resignation, which multiple even complained was lengthy overdue, in addition they demanded her fast prosecution. Some civic teams have already instituted legal action to compel federal authorities to file costs against her.
