The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has expressed concern over the elevated fee of flooding within the state.
He is thereby asking the Federal Government to intervene within the scenario.
This comes after over 200 communities in about 10 Local Government Areas within the state had been affected by flood, rendering residents homeless and destroying properties price tens of millions of naira.
Addressing journalist in Lokoja, the state capital, the state governor appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to come back to their help and help the victims of the flood catastrophe.
According to him the water degree this year is much past what they skilled in 2012.
He mentioned the 2018 flood catastrophe is already biting tougher in most communities throughout the state.
The scenario in Koton-Karfe and Ibaji that are among the many worst hit local government by the flood is alarming because the state High Court in Koton-Karfe, homes, clinics, church buildings, mosque and farmland have all been submerged by the flood.
Affected households are presently taking shelter with relation residing on the uphill whereas others are actually within the IDP camp hoping that the water will recede quickly.
