A petroleum tanker belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) caught fire in Ogudu space of Lagos State on Friday night.
The tanker was loaded with petrol when it burst into flames alongside the Ifako Bridge inwards Ogudu.
Officers of the Lagos State Fire Service, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have been on floor to arrest the scenario.
The route was cordoned off and motorists have been initially suggested to re-route by way of Gbagada in the event that they have been already on the Third Mainland Bridge, or take the Eko Bridge within the different.
As at some minutes after 7pm, the fire had been put out and the burnt tanker was towed off the street. The street was afterwards opened to visitors.
At the time of this report, there was nonetheless heavy visitors within the space.
